1995
marked the start of a policy to erect contemporary
sculptures in Navarre with the aim of
adding new interest to this unique outdoor heritage. These
large, weatherproof sculptures are of varying styles and
materials, such as: “Arraigados”
(Manuel Clemente Ochoa, b. in 1937), “Lamia del Bidasoa”
(Xavier Santxotena, b. in 1946), “Cabeza”(Faustino Aizkorbe,
b. in 1948), “Encrucijada”(Jesús Alberto Eslava, b. in 1930), “La sombra del sueño”(Leopoldo Ferrán, b. in 1963),
“Evolución vertical” (Javier Muro Sanz de Galdeano, b. in
1968) and “Cabeza” (Juan Diego Miguel, b. in 1955). This is a
very forward-looking project.
